Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ZapN (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

ZapN is a URL shortening and link management service. We provide:

  • Short links that redirect to your chosen destination URLs
  • Link management (create, edit, deactivate)
  • Basic click counts for all users
  • For Pro subscribers: advanced analytics (referrers, countries, clicks over time), unlimited links, and additional features

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice where feasible.

3. Account and Eligibility

  • You sign in with Google or LinkedIn. By using the Service, you agree to the relevant provider’s terms and that we receive your email and name from that provider as needed to run your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, and have parental consent if required) to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Notify us promptly of unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Service to:

  • Break any applicable law or encourage illegal activity
  • Host, distribute, or link to malware, phishing, or harmful content
  • Spam, harass, or abuse others
  • Infringe others’ intellectual property or privacy
  • Circumvent or overload our systems, or use bots/scripts in an unauthorized way
  • Resell or sublicense the Service in a way we have not expressly allowed

We may suspend or terminate your account and delete content if you breach these rules. We may also block links or destinations we reasonably consider harmful.

5. Your Content and Our Intellectual Property

  • Your content: You keep ownership of the destination URLs and any content you add (e.g. link titles). You grant us a limited license to operate the Service (e.g. store, redirect, and show analytics) for as long as you use it.
  • Our IP: ZapN’s name, logo, product, and technology are owned by us. You may not copy or use them except as allowed by the Service.

6. Payments and Refunds

  • Pro subscription: Paid via Stripe. You are billed according to the plan you choose. Fees are in the currency shown at checkout.
  • Renewal and cancellation: Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel or change the plan in Settings. Cancellation applies at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: We follow our refund policy as stated at the time of purchase. For subscription issues, contact us.

7. Disclaimers

  • The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error‑free.
  • We are not responsible for the availability, content, or conduct of third‑party sites your links point to. Use of those destinations is at your risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
  • Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (e.g. death, personal injury, fraud).

9. Termination

  • By you: Stop using the Service and cancel any subscription. You may export or delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy before closing your account.
  • By us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, for legal or regulatory reasons, or to protect the Service or others. We will give notice when reasonably possible.
  • On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may delete your data after a retention period as set in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will notify you (e.g. by email or a notice in the Service) before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
